].
There were 49 deliveries, 25 vaginal and 24 caesarian sections. The reasons for the choice of delivery were primarily patient preference in the vaginal group and obstetrical reasons, obstetrician advice or patient’s wish to protect the pouch in the caesarian section group.
There were 4 complications in the caesarian section group: Two patients each had 2 small bowel obstructions . All resolved within a few days without operative intervention. One patient developed uterine prolapse after vaginal delivery, requiring surgical repair.
