Should C Section be recommended in all Females with IPAA?
Risk of
anal sphincter damage is low and reported
series are small so it is impossible to make
recommendations based on the literature
Advantages
of C Section:
-Decreased risk of damage to the pelvic floor
-Decreased risk of urinary incontinence: 10.1% in nulliparous females, 15.9% following C section and 21% following vaginal deliveries
