WASHINGTON (Reuters Health) Mar 25 – Woodside Biomedical has received clearance from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to market its watch-like nerve stimulator as an over-the-counter (OTC) treatment for morning sickness, the closely held medical device maker said on Monday.
Carlsbad, California-based Woodside said that it received clearance from the FDA to market the company's ReliefBand for the relief of mild to moderate nausea and vomiting associated with pregnancy. Woodside added that the FDA clearance marks the first such specific approval for the treatment of morning sickness.
