ROCHESTER, MN — February 13, 2002 — A Mayo Clinic study indicates long-term use of the antidepressant drug venlafaxine provides women treated for breast cancer with safe and effective relief from hot flashes. It also appears that this antidepressant can be an alternative to estrogen for women who want a non-hormonal treatment for their hot flashes.
