Thioridazine-induced arrhythmia appears to be the cause of some sudden unexplained deaths among psychiatric in-patients, UK researchers report in the June issue of the British Journal of Psychiatry.
Dr. Simon H. L. Thomas from the University of Newcastle, and colleagues performed a case-control study comparing psychiatric in-patients who died suddenly with matched controls in five hospitals in the northeast of England.
