WASHINGTON (Reuters Health) Mar 20 – As the population ages, more Americans are facing sight-threatening eye diseases, a joint private-federal study released Wednesday shows.
The study, conducted jointly by the National Eye Institute, Prevent Blindness America, and the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins University, found that one million Americans over age 40 are blind now, and that this figure will double over the next few decades.
